Himalayan Cedar is a large tree that can grow 50 metres tall. Native to the Himalayas, it is found in Afghanistan, Tibet, India, Nepal and Pakistan. Introduced in Europe in the 1820s, it is primarily grown as an ornamental tree in parks and gardens. The essential oil is extracted from its wood through steam distillation.
